GATECREEPER Announces New Album Dark Superstition, Streams Anthemic Single “The Black Curtain”

Gatecreeper has announced their long-awaited new record Dark Superstition for May 17, and is now streaming the crushing debut single “The Black Curtain”.

“Many of the songs incorporate supernatural ideas with my own experiences,” said Gatecreeper vocalist Chase H. Mason. “But the title itself is a reference to the Superstition Mountains in our home state of Arizona. It’s a beautiful mountain range surrounded by tragedy and legends of hidden fortune.”

On the single itself and its video directed by Max Moore, Mason added: “It’s about being trapped between living and dying. A soul trapped in purgatory begging to be brought back by a supernatural force.”

Dark Superstition was written by Gatecreeper alongside drummer and songwriter Fred Estby of legendary Swedish death metal band Dismember, and recorded and mixed at God City Studios in Salem, MA with Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou. Pre-orders are available here.

Gatecreeper is also hitting the road this May with In Flames and Creeping Death. Tickets are available here.
