Hello everyone. I have decided to sell some of my equipment for financial reasons, one of them being an ESP Eclipse FR guitar, made in Japan, that I bought as brand new back in 2013 from an authorized musical instrument seller on eBay. It was shipped to my home safely and the guitar has served me flawlessly ever since. Now, it is time for this timeless beauty to find her new owner who will value it as I did over the years, will make new memories just like I did that I won’t be forgetting for a lifetime. As for the longer story of the guitar, please continue reading.
It was back in 2013 that I was about to graduate from university while getting ready for the biggest adventure of my life, forming a metal band together with an old friend of mine in Ukraine where I was going to be in the position of a lead guitar player, composer, and lyricist. Although I already had many guitars in my vault up until that moment, I decided to take it as seriously as I possibly could and get myself proper professional equipment for the task.
That being said, the first thing that I wanted to do was to get myself a guitar that wouldn’t let me down on our way up to the highest point in the music industry. Together with all the excitement of buying a new guitar, I had only two guitar brands in mind: Gibson and ESP. In fact, I knew all about both brands at the time yet didn’t have the resources to pick a Gibson model with the specifications that I wanted, so I didn’t waste a moment and moved further, searching for an Esp Eclipse with a Floyd Rose for the lead guitar capabilities, which were rare and still are. The first Eclipse that I found was this very model in full black with white bindings and active EMG 81-60 humbuckers, made in Japan.
As mentioned earlier, the guitar served me well up until now. In the 2013 and 2014 periods, I used it as my main instrument, performed many shows, took it with me to rehearsals, and even recorded the debut album of my band, Lostpray. In the video below, you can see me playing it, and you can also continue listening further on the Spotify player below the video. The entire album was recorded with this guitar as the secondary rhythm guitars and main lead guitars. The highlight lead guitar moment in the album is the solo section of the song “Memoir” (Track no: 7).
Since 2015, the guitar has been safely stored at my home in Turkey. With the onset of the war in Ukraine in February 2022, things have fundamentally changed in our lives, as well as my future plans. In the summer of 2023, I took it with me to Lucerne and decided to put it up for sale. This is the entire story of this beautiful instrument.
Here’s the description that I used on my listings;
Overview:
I’m selling my ESP Eclipse Fr (Floyd Rose) guitar, which I’ve owned since 2013. This guitar has been used to record a studio album and has unique features like its evolving binding color. It’s a reliable and high-quality instrument that has been well-maintained over the years.
Condition:
Purchased new in 2013, used to record a studio album, and has been well-maintained and kept in its original ESP hardcase. The binding which was white on purchase has gracefully aged to a gold hue, reminiscent of vintage Gibson guitars.
There also are some rusting on the screws, especially on the humbucker rings. Also, the paint wore out on the knobs which you can also see on the detailed photos below.
Hardware and Specs:
Comes with black nickel hardware, EMG pickups, and the coveted Floyd Rose tremolo system. Made with a mahogany body, carved maple top, and set neck construction. Features a 24.75″ scale length, an ebony fretboard adorned with ESP Custom “Flag” inlays, 22 XJ (Jumbo) frets, and an ESP Eclipse style headstock.
Tuners & Electronics:
Original Gotoh tuners ensure tuning stability, while EMG 81/60 active humbuckers provide the classic Metallica tone—versatile, aggressive, and quiet. The guitar has a 2x volume, 1x tone, and a 3-way toggle switch configuration.
Additional Info:
It is often praised as a classic ESP model, renowned for its professional features and unmatched price-quality ratio. The meticulous craftsmanship is evident in its selection of woods, playability, and sound.
Case:
It includes a high-quality original ESP Eclipse Series formfit hardcase with the ESP logo.
Reason for Selling:
As much as it has been a treasure to me, I no longer play it as I used to. I believe this guitar deserves a new home where it will be played and cherished. I’m keen on handing it over in person to ensure its safety and to personally share its story.
The guitar is currently located in Lucerne, Switzerland, and I am in Helsinki, Finland. For serious buyers, I am willing to help with the safe shipment of the guitar, and you are also welcome to come, play, try, and see the guitar for yourself.
The price is 2500 Euros. Feel free to contact me through the form if you have any questions (contact me here). Serious buyers only.
