God Dethroned announce new album ‘The Judas Paradox’

GOD DETHRONED have announced a new album!

Titled The Judas Paradox, the upcoming album from the Dutch blackened death metal band is the follow-up to 2020’s Illuminati, and is scheduled to be released in September this year, via Reigning Phoenix Music.

The upcoming album was produced by the band themselves, with mixing being handled by their very own singer/guitarist Henri ‘The Serpent King’ Sattler. Tony Lindgren, who previously worked with scene greats such as OPETH, AMORPHIS, ENSLAVED, KATATONIA, KREATOR and SEPULTURA, took over mastering duties at Fascination Street Studios.

Alongside the announcement of the new album, GOD DETHRONED have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; Rat Kingdom. The new song is the second single to be released from the upcoming album, following on from Asmodeus, which was released back in December 2022.

Speaking about the new song, Sattler says, “this song is about the Vatican and the many secrets that are being kept there, away from the eyes of the world. And he who speaks will disappear in the shadows down below. Musically, it’s a song which starts with a classic pile of melody lines that makes it both hymnic and bombastic, followed by a blast of fury with a black metal vibe and the Serpent King‘s very own style of guitar solo – one which stands out from the masses and pays tribute to the late Jeff Hanneman.”
