Our friends down in Uruguay are gonna be bummed about this one. Earlier this afternoon, Megadeth announced on their official social media pages that a show set to take place there on April 11 isn’t happening anymore. And details behind the show’s cancellation are pretty scarce at this point.
The legendary thrash band was supposed to play Uruguay on the third stop of their previously announced South American tour. Prior to the now kiboshed show, the band’s supposed to play Peru and Chile, but neither of those dates have been cut as of late.
According to the band’s statement on the matter, something apparently came up and they couldn’t address the issue, so the show got the axe.
“For reasons beyond the control of the band and the production company, the Megadeth show in Uruguay, scheduled for April 11, 2024, is canceled and will be rescheduled on their next trip to South America. The band says “We deeply apologize to the fans but we will be back!” We will soon be informing you of the ticket return process.”
It’s a bit odd to see a single show canceled months out from it actually happening. The South American leg of the band’s ‘Crush The World Tour’ was announced late last month. Part of that announcement was some “big surprise” set for their second show in Buenos Aires, Argentina, so her injury doesn’t affect that situation at all.
Still, if you’d like to see Megadeth live down in that part of the world, be sure to check ’em out at any of the dates below.
